Personal Support Worker Certification

  • A Personal Support Worker (PSW) is a Canadian health worker that provides care to people who cannot fully care for themselves.
  •  The PSW program is a Living Classroom at Tabor Manor in St. Catharines. This program enables students to get practical training while learning theory. Students are integrated during Part 2 of Health Care Theory
  •  Students can earn their PSW Certificate in 10 months and be part of a rewarding career in long-term care facilities, hospitals, nursing homes, home care agencies and child and youth residences. All credits can be used toward an OSSD if needed.
  •  This program provides students with the academic background, theory and practical training necessary to become a qualified PSW. Students also receive certifications such as CPR, First Aid, Food Handlers Safety, Mobility Training and Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA).
  •  Our PSW program is fully accredited by the Personal Support Worker Program Accreditation (PSWPA) through the Continuing Education School Board Administrator (CESBA) association. Graduates receive their PSW PIN from the Ontario Long Term Care Association.
